ABOUT GREEN ENERGY
SOLAR ENERGY
Solar Energy Advatages
  • You can be green and save money!
  • After the initial investment has been recovered, the energy from the sun is practically FREE
  • Thanks to the  Green Energy Act, there are powerful financial incentives available from the Ontario government
  • It will save you money on your electricity bill - if you have one at all
  • Solar energy only needs the sun or daylight to work
  • The savings are immediate and the government currently offers a guaranteed 20 year contract to buy power from you at over $0.802 per kw
  • It does not pollute our air by releasing carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide or mercury into the atmosphere like many traditional forms of electrical generation does
  • Solar Energy helps with  carbon offset
  • Solar Energy systems are virtually maintenance free and solar panels are typically guaranteed for at least 20 years
  • Once installed, there are no recurring costs
  • They operate silently, have no moving parts, do not release offensive smells and do not require you to add any fuel
  • More solar panels can easily be added in the future when your needs grow
Solar Energy Disadvatages
  • The initial investment is often the main disadvantage of installing a solar energy system. Prices on solar panels have decreased substantially and new government incentives are making it more affordable to install solar power systems
  • The cost of solar energy is also high compared to non-renewable utility-supplied electricity.
  • Solar panels require a decent amount of area to generate large amounts of power
  • Solar energy can only be generated during the day when it's light out
